OUR LETTERS REGARDING THE HAWAIIAN HUMANE SOCIETY
Mr. Norman Pang, formerly of Animal Haven, a no-kill animal shelter in Waianae (O’ahu), has filed a lawsuit in FEDERAL COURT against the Hawaiian Humane Society (“HHS”), and others. Animal Advocate Inc. is very concerned about the conduct of the HHS as described in court filings in the Norman Pang case, involving issues pertaining to Mr. Pang’s constitutional rights.
Read our letters below, regarding the actions of the Hawaiian Humane Society (“HHS”) and the Humane Society of the United States (“HSUS”). The federal lawsuit was filed against HHS Director Pamela Burns, Keoni Vaughn (Manager of Field Services at the HHS), Rigo Niera (Director of Animal Protection at the HHS), Dr. Rebecca Rhoades of the Kauai Humane Society, and employees of the HSUS, among others.

In addition, listen to The Carroll Cox Show radio program, featuring guests Kennifer Kishimori, founder of the O’ahu SPCA and Cat Friends, and Pam Davis of Animal Advocate Inc., discussing several problems pertaining to the Hawaiian Humane Society (HHS). For example, Jennifer talks about how she has been banned from using the HHS facilities and services, even though she is a citizen and a taxpayer, and the HHS is funded by taxpayer money!
Jennifer Kishimori believes that the HHS Director, Pamela Burns, has banned her because Jennifer agreed to assist Norman Pang, who had asked her organization to help him transfer the animals from Animal Haven to her facility, after the untimely death of his wife Bonnie. Mr. Pang stated that he did not want the animals to go to the HHS, because most of them would have been killed (or “euthanized” as the HHS likes to call it).
