OUR PHOTOS

We hope you will enjoy these photos of some of the beautiful animals here in Hawai’i. Some are native species, and others are what some call “ordinary” farm animals — who are not in the least bit ordinary to us.

In addition, we’ve expanded our selection of informative quotes.  We hope that you will think deeply about them while viewing the photos.

This adorable endangered monk seal, a female named Ka’Iwi, is now making her way through life alone.  Her mother departed after about 6 weeks, and we saw the baby swimming and hunting for food  –  looks like she also likes sunning herself, and just having a great time.

Volunteers erected a rope and signs, and they “stand guard” daily, making sure people don’t disturb the baby monk seal.
A big MAHALO to all of them!

“Until we have the courage to recognize cruelty for what it is – whether its victim is human or animal – we cannot expect things to be much better in this world … We cannot have peace among men whose hearts delight in killing any living creatures. By every act that glorifies or even tolerates such moronic delight in killing we set back the progress of humanity.” – Rachel Carson

Our deep urge to evolve to a more spiritually mature level of understanding and living, and to create a social order that promotes more justice, peace, freedom, health, sanity, prosperity, sustainability, and happiness, absolutely requires us to stop viewing animals as food objects to be consumed and to shift to a plant-based way of eating.”
