Dear Mr. Watanabe, I spoke with you on the phone yesterday, regarding the contract which Kauai County has with the Kauai Humane Society. I was able to locate a copy of the information regarding the contract agreement online. I wanted to thank you, and the woman I spoke with (I do not know her name) -- you were both very helpful, and I wanted to let you know I appreciate your help very much. We recently became aware that a lawsuit has been filed on September 11, 2009, in the United States District Court in Honolulu, naming Dr. Becky Rhoades as a Defendant. Attorney Michael Ostendorp filed the lawsuit on behalf of Mr. Norman Pang, who lives in Waianae, Oahu. Because you work for the Kauai County Council Services, I thought you might like to have a copy of the lawsuit document. That way, if you or the Council are interested in learning more about the charges against Dr. Becky Rhoades, you can read the document itself. We have some questions regarding Dr. Rhoades involvement in the situation, and we have written a letter to Mr. Rezentes, Director of Finance for Kauai County, because that is the department which oversees the spay/neuter and animal control contracts.
